Brain Training

Neurofeedback, HRV Training, Transcranial Photobiomodulation

Service Description

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that uses real-time display of brain activity (typically EEG signals) to teach self-regulation of brain function. Neurofeedback helps users gain voluntary control over various mental and physical processes, such as regulating attention, controlling emotions, improving sleep, and managing chronic pain and stress. Neurofeedback is a noninvasive, technology-based approach that does not require medication or surgery. It is typically used as an adjunctive (not a stand-alone modality) to other forms of intervention.

Heart rate variability (HRV) training is a type of training that can help athletes become more resilient and enhance their recovery from physical and mental stress. HRV training involves tracking and understanding the variability of one's resting heart rate over time. This variability is used to help individuals learn how to balance the stress of daily life and the physical demands of training or competition with proper recovery and rest. HRV training can also be used to access an individual's current level of fitness and readiness to perform. This assessment can be used to help coaches and athletes design training plans that are tailored to suit the individual's needs while also helping to prevent overtraining and injury.

Transcranial photobiomodulation (PBM) is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that utilizes low-level laser or light-emitting diode (LED) radiation to target specific points on the scalp to deliver a photonic signal to the brain. The transcranial photobiomodulation (PBM) technique is designed to help with neurological disorders like depression and stroke, as well as improve various areas of cognitive function like memory, attention, executive function, and creativity. This technique is also thought to help reduce anxiety. PBM devices utilize light in the near infrared (NIR) and visible spectrum to directly or indirectly impact the neurons of the brain, ultimately leading to positive beneficial changes.
